rose and sydney met under unusual circumstances, despite which the two managed to strike an odd friendship. rose was one of the reasons sydney's outlook on vampire's changed and she doesn't think she'd be where she is if she hadn't met her (she doesn't regret it in the least). although she does tend to get a bit jealous of her since she's adrian's ex, she knows there's no residual feelings anymore. she just wishes they got to see each other more often. sydney doesn't know christian ozera very well. all she knows is the reputation associated with his family and that he's dating the queen. despite not judging him for the ozera family "legacy", she does find him intimidating since moroi magic terrifies her and he controls, in her opinion, the deadliest of them all. sydney met alex in a completely accidental manner; first through texts via a wrong number and then a walk through the woods. despite the weird circumstances, she finds alex a bit endearing and is relieved for there to be somebody normal in mystic falls. she's actually willing to get to know him; more than she can say for other people she's met in this town.(friends in verse 3.)

sydney was sick of being called rebekah, so she decided to go and find rebekah mikaelson, determined to settle this mystery once and for all as to why somebody could mistake her for somebody else. imagine her surprise when she came face to face with her own mirror image, equally confused and lost for an explanation. what sydney doesn't know is that she's more than a look-alike..she's a doppelganger, originated from rebekah and ester's bloodline, leading back to the start.(acquainted in verse 3.2) |

jill mastrano dragomir first met sydney when they found out that she was lissa's half sister. since then, sydney has been the head alchemist, charged with her protection in palm springs. however, with the time they've spent posing as sisters, they've become much closer. sydney usually turns to jill when she needs a friend to talk to and she trusts her a lot. she thinks of jill as her own sister now, and would do anything to protect her: duty or not. sydney knows dimitri only through work, never having really gotten a chance to interact with him on a personal level. she does respect him though, for still being such a dedicated guardian despite what he went through. she sometimes finds herself relating to him, given that they both have to sometimes be around their lovers' exes (even if dimitri doesn't know that she's seeing adrian). she also relates to him because he's a smart, quiet one in the middle of all these energetic companions. sydney and trey didn't exactly have an easy history, given that he's a warrior of the light. but she's still friends with him because she understands what it can be like to have to be born into something and then try and live up to its legacy; especially with strict parents. she does have her doubts once in a while but she's convinced he's a good person who won't try and hurt them again. (friends in verse 1, verse 1.2, verse 4. hates him in verse 1.1.)

although sydney has no jealousy towards the blonde who she met in mystic falls, she can't help but have the most awkward relationship with her given that she's with the guy she once loved a lot. it doesn't help that sydney's feelings towards adrian are balanced between a shadow of an old crush and intense fear. she's also extremely scared of caroline now that she knows she's a vampire and is trying her best to stay out of her way, especially since she thinks adrian is dead. eddie castile is a guardian, posing as sydney's twin brother. despite not having a lot in common to go on, they've become friends, jill's protection being their number one priority. she hates to see him get hurt, especially between jill and angeline. she thinks of him as a protector, and every time something goes wrong, he's the first person she thinks of contacting. (friends in verse 1, verse 1.1, verse 1.2 and verse 4.)

sydney doesn't know lissa personally, only through what she's heard from rose, adrian and jill. because of this indirect connection she had mixed emotions towards her. she respects her for being a great friend and a hard working queen, at such a young age. but she also wishes she made an effort to reach out to jill more. sydney, of all people, understands distancing your siblings to keep them safe but she's intuitive enough to know that jill's safety is not the only reason lissa's hesitant to approach her. sydney and alexis don't get along, period. although alexis knows something's up with sydney and the alchemists, and even helped her during a rough moment, sydney finds her a bit overwhelming. she has respect for the dhampir, but it's entirely grudging because even though alexis' advice is full of good intentions, sydney always takes it in a patronizing manner and refutes it. sydney ran into henrik outside an old book shop in mystic falls, and the two struck up conversation quiet quickly. sydney feels sorry for henrik since he seems to be clouded by his family who baby him and wishes she could offer some advice without interfering. what she doesn't know is that the reason henrik talked to her in the first place is because she's an exact replica of his sister.
